RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Classroom Course
Our Day Skipper theory courses are either conducted over 6 weeks on 2 evenings per week or as a 1 week intensive course.
RYA Day Skipper is an intensive course providing extensive knowledge of the theory and practice of navigation. By the end of the course students will have a complete understanding of chartwork, navigation, safety, the rules of the road, and the ability to safely plan a passage on a chart.
The course syllabus contains some 40 hours of classroom tuition and approximately 10 hours of homework. There are 2 assessment papers that have to be completed during the course. Successful candidates are awarded the Day Skipper Shore Based certificate.
