RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster
A six week course providing theoretical seamanship.
The RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster shorebased course is intended to provide the candidate with a knowledge of the advanced theory of navigation and meteorology. Students receive a course pack that includes work book, charts and instruction manual.
The course is usually conducted over a 6 week period during the winter with students attending on two evenings per week or as an intensive five day course. It is however possible to undertake this training as a correspondence course, supported by our instructors by E mail and telephone.
The assumed level of knowledge before starting the course is the Day Skipper shorebased course.
Successful candidates will be issued with the RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster shorebased certificate.
The theory content of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster course is a prerequisite and fundamental basis for entry to the Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore practical course's.
