The theory of how the diesel engine works.

The RYA Diesel Engine course introduces everybody to a cut-away diesel engine, using simple everyday words, and provides a basic understanding of how an engine works, how all parts interact, starting methods and how to stop an engine in an emergency.

Training is given on the Fuel, cooling and electrical systems, concentrating on daily checks, what we should find and what we can do if problems occur.

Methods of looking after the engine during the winter are discussed and suggested, list of tools and spare parts is explained.
